men

So the other day at work the sweetest yet worst thing happened to me! here is the story

So, i am behind the till, I have just served this lovely old lady and am signing onto the computer to help the next customer. I look up and think to myself " wow, this customer is really good looking. don't be lame, don't be lame! " Hi there, did you find everything okay?" , i ask. "yes, fine thank you" the nice looking man replies.I ring all his stuff through the till and as i am saying have a nice day he says "could i take you out sometime?"

What do you do in such a situation? Say yes, because he looks nice and was friendly and chat for a little while whilst holding up the line-up or do you say no because you are not used to the boldness of men from other countries...

Want to know what i did? " oh, wow. ummm. yeah.... that's really nice... but ummm.... no....sorry.... ummm.... there is a really big line up behind you.... gotta get back to work. hhhahah... (awkward smile)...sorry. thanks... umm... bye!"

I will probs never see him again. oh well. damn Christmas shopping business!!

Who are you traveling with right now?

and oh my, you ARE in my W.A program!!

Ok so i guess i should introduce myself to the group.
Hi, my name is June and have severe addiction to working.

but Jackie i understand. currently im employed at THREE different places.. how did i end up with so many jobs? no idea. but i as well want to make loads of money so that i can travel and see things and go everywhere!! Tokyo has proved itself to be larger than life. literally. there are so many things that i have to see still!! oh and ive decided that I am going to quit everything to go traveling in the spring for one month. so thats another reason why im in overdrive right now.

are you still working at lush?? every time i see a lush store in tokyo i think of you. lol.

W.A #2

June, my darling friend, i too should be in that! together we can confess our work aholic ways and support eachother through our need to travel and do exciting things!

I have been working so much! minus my 5 days in paris i have been working everyday of the week almost. The only reason that i agree to such ridiculousness is because i want to go everywhere.see everything. and i just cant say no!

I too, need to get my priorities in check!

xoxoxo
jd

paris?!?!?!?

Now, if i were to talked about every single joy that I experienced while I was in Paris you would be sat at your computer for hours, no, probably days. So, my plan is to divide it into points to make it a bit more easy for you to read and to help prevent me from rambling.

1. FOOD: There was practically a cafe, bakery, cheese shop, bistro, crepe stand, chocolate shop, winery, and fruit/veg stand on every street. It was overwhelming really. The place where we were staying was right above a bakery so we had pastries for breakfast um, every morning - FAB! Pretty much, the food was tasty, well presented and priced for the queen.

2. BUILDINGS/MONUMENTS: As our little gang strolled through the city it seemed as if there was some extravagant building, statue or garden on every street. They were all individually appealing and crafted with such detail and beauty. It is quite phenomenal to think that hundreds of years ago these building were designed on paper, without the help of computers and then built by pure human strength- they didn't have CAT tractors and huge, powerful machinery to help them out back in the day. Here is a list of where we went, from amazing to a little less amazing:

Le Sacre Couer - most beautiful building i have ever seen, it is truly breathtaking
Musee Du Louvre - the art;beautiful, the ceilings;magnificent
La Cathedrale Notre-Dame - stunning and spooky at the same time
Tour Eiffel - we went on our last evening and i have never seen so many lights, you could see all of Paris - amazing
Arc De Triumph
Museum D'histoire Naturelle

3:FASHION: There are no trashy people in Paris, I will tell you that right now. Everyone has some sense of style but mostly, everyone just knows how to dress themselves... I didn't see one muffin top! ( that is really exciting to me because i cant stand when people wear pants that are too low and too tight, so , hurrah!) On Saturday night I went out with my dear friend Emilie Lacroix and we went to this club...everyone= fashionable and beautiful! it was great!

4: MEN: As in most cities there were slimy, gross men but to balance it out there were some beautiful, nice, french speaking ones as well! HURRAH! I don't speak french let alone understand it, but i felt shy or flattered each time a stunning young man would talk to me, even if he was the waiter just asking what i wanted to eat.5: POO: There is a lot of dog poo in Paris, no joke. It is just on every tree, lamp post and garbage bin. This was the only sadness of my whole trip. but really, so gross!

W.A.

Workaholics Anonymous. This is where I belong.

I think im about to drive myself into overload again!! bahhh.

The problem is: I constantly have 5 or more things that i want to do!!
I know its realistically not possible to do all of them but my workaholicness is taking over once again. So I'm wondering right now what my priorities are?

Gotta set things straight!

hygeine

Haven't updated in ages. I'm so sorry!! okay something random I discovered recently...

So everyone knows that Japan is one of the most hygienic places... probably on earth. Everything is packaged at least twice or more, and baths are beyond essential for Japanese living. But recently I have found an incredibly shocking loop hole about Japan's hygiene!! That is, public washrooms!! ( ̄□ ̄;)!!

Okay, so I've encountered several time now where I walk into a public washroom (train station, department store, etc.) and find a nice clean stall. The toilet papers are all filled up, so far so good.

Then I go to the sink to wash my hands and everything seems to be going alright... until I push on the silver soap dispenser beside the sink and NOTHING comes out. So I go to check the others, but nothing comes out. I slightly panic. But I check the first dispenser again just to make sure, but still, nothing. Then, a small metal sign beside the soap dispenser catches my eye. It reads "umbrella holder"uh.... pardon?

An umbrella holder?? You mean it's necessary to have UMBRELLA HOLDERS at each sink but NO SOAP?! wow. that's great. -____-;;

So I wash my hands with just water rub my hands on the side of my jeans because of course there's no paper towels or a hand dryer. excellent.

You may think I'm being kind of a germaphobe about the soap thing, but it's surprising to me because Japan usually so meticulous about hygiene. And especially with the flu season coming on the rise public washrooms are one of the most prime places to catch germs!!

So these days, I've learned to carry some hand sanitizer around and a small towel where ever I go because you never know when you might end up needing it here!!

Adventure #234

I left London today and not with out drama.( it wouldn't be like me to do it in a calm orderly fashion.) Here is how the story goes:Last night a whole bunch of us went to this huge Halloween party and didn't come home until about 4 in the morning - whoever told me England doesn't do Halloween is a big fat liar- it was a great night; loads of fun! Any who, i was meant to awake at around 1o this morning so that Talulah and i could go to this little art gallery before i had to head to the coach station to make my way over to Manchester... we woke up at 11:45. Why is this a problem? My coach bus was leaving at 1:30, we had to leave at 12:45 to get there on time and i still had not finished packing. So, I quickly showered, packed and by the grace of God left the flat at 12:45 on the dot.Everything was going quite smoothly until we got on the tube and an announcement came on saying something along the lines of "this tube is terminating at the next stop, all passengers must exit the train at the next station." Why is this a problem? The station we had to get off at did not have a tube going to our stop resulting in us having to transfer three times in order to get to our destination... i arrived at the bus gate at 1:33- no joke!I calmly walked to the ticket booth and purchased a ticket for the next bus, leaving at approximately 5pm. AWESOME! Finally, after hours of waiting and then hours of sitting on a stuffy bus i arrived at the bus station!HURRAH! Was my aunt there to pick me up? No, of course not. How was she supposed to know that this bus line had switched terminals!!?? I hopped in a cab and payed another 7 pounds to get to where i originally was supposed to be. FABULOUS!Now, as dramatic as all of this was, it ended up being quite good. I enjoy the extra bit of chaos whilst travelling. It adds to the whole experience really. Now i am all safe and sound in my aunty's adorable house on a hillside drinking tea and eating chocolate biscuits - how posh!

Hold up, wait a minute, let me put my two cents in it!

I went clubbing for my 18th! oh man, what a blast! first of all, new fave drink, lemonade and vodka, sooo good. Second of all, i love black boys who can dance! It was such an interesting night, i went up to the bar and there were these two gorgeous boys ordering drinks. Yes, i defs want all up on that! lols. Anyways, i ordered my drink and then went back to dancing with all my friends. Then the next time i went back to the bar, again, these beautiful men just standing there is all their beautifulness. Because im not so in to approaching really gorgeous men that i dont know i walked away... but then, like twenty minutes later one of them came up to me and was like, come dance? and i was like...HELL YES! He was half black and had green eyes, please, how could i not! Anyways, the night was great and i just danced the night away!

oh... and there may have been some kissing......

Just touched down in London town!

Hey all my lovelies,

My adventure has begun! I have been in England for just over a week now and i have been non stop! This country is absolutely beautiful, straight up, its so good! I just got the train into london last night and am staying with my cousin in her dorm room for the week. London is pretty fab, loads of people all the time and unfortunately it is kinda smelly...but that is mostly on the tube( that is the equivalent to our skytrains). Today i went to Portobello Market which is in Notting Hill. It was kind of like a gypsy market. Loads of people selling crazy things from fur coats to old tea sets. Pretty fab!

Now to the good stuff. OMG! the boys here are sooooo beautiful. All of them!.... okay, well not all but I would say at least... 80 percent. straight up!

Unfortunately my laptop is being lame at the moment so i cant upload pictures but as soon as it works i will post loads...that makes me sound like i have been taking pictures of boys on the tube while they are not looking but i havent. the pictures are of england... and maybe a few boys... :D

peace out gangstas

holy sea-cow!

A month and a half after we parted from Miyako, Team Hidamari has united once again!
this time in beautiful IZU, which happens to be one of Japan's best diving spots!! from the boat we saw mt. FUJI and OSEZAKI isl. :D:D:D
mt. fuji was already covered in snow and looked so amazing. i think i turned a bit more japanese when i saw it! lol.

the first point we went to was like EEL-CENTRAL. x(
there were so many of them just chillin around in the water... ahh! but apparently, i was the only one that was disturbed by their freakishly long and thick bodies swimming around!
our first dive was 17m but the water was so COLD half way through the course i started to shiver in the water!

the second dive was a point called CORAL GARDEN and it was just that. the rocks at the bottom were covered in these long stringy soft corals! less eel and more fish here! woot.
saw some WILD GOLD FISH and ginormous sea urchins (the size of my hand). also saw some cute JASMINE OSEZAKI SEACOWS... we tried to look up the name of the sea cow we saw but couldnt find it so jasmine decided to name it after herself..lol

after our second dive we ate YAKISOBA on our boat and took a nice nap on the deck.

it was so sunny and warm 0n the deck... mmm.... sleep.

but after nap time was super active time!! we hopped on the banana boat for a spin around the bay! holy seacow! banana boats are so fun! i became party def from my own screams and my body is still hurting from getting flung off! We lost Passion on the one of the turns and had to go and rescue her lol...and Jasmine died from being in the front. good times all around

so this past weekend was so exciting! cant wait for this weekend's international party at Leafcup!

genius babies

So currently I have three little munchkins that I teach English to. They are all boys, Yuri, Ryugo, and Kiyotaka. I'm pretty sure they are all three years old. And my, they are such darlings! They bring joy to my tuesday and tursday mornings. I am so tempted to produce "Japanese Kids Say the Darndest Things". Seriously! Especially Kiyo the cute and girly one is pretty much fluent in English! It's absolutely amazing! He can speak as much English as any Canadian three year old. And oh how he knows how to use his big bug eyes to manipulate!!

Today as we were gluing paper monsters to make our Halloween bags, sneaky Kiyo tells me...

"I can't glue! Pleath help me! It's too hard! I can't do it!!"

So I told him...

"Yes you can Kiyo! You are a big boy, you can do it"

Then he continues to negotiate with...

"Okay, Okay. Then, pleath, let's do together. Come on! Come on! We do together right?"

Oh Kiyo you are so cheeky. It's like he has a blueprint of how to get what he wants without getting in trouble. Smart child, perhaps too smart! *sigh, but this is why I love chids so much.. too manipulative but too cute to resist <3

GALS UNITE!

walking around Shibuya, one of the most populated part of Japan, was such an insane experience!
the things that japanese people come up with are endless! defs ran into a three story condom store "condomania" - naturally and a group of "Gals" hanging out front.

Who are these "Gals" you say? well my friends, they are the young fashion leaders of japan. with long, fake, and hay yellow curls and ridiculously unnecessary eyelashes they rule the streets of Shibuya. Their insanely colourful fashion can be spotted from miles away and when you spot one, there are most likely 5 or 6 others following.

Their habitat consists of the most populated areas of japan including, Shibuya, Harajuku, and Roppongi Hills. They survive by wearing the most outrageous clothes and speaking "Gal-go" aka. their own version of japanese communication. Many are from the ages of 17-25 but some are as young as 14.

These Gals are exponentially on the rise and are soon to take over the whole of Japan and probably the world. so be on the look out canada!

When I went to Shiubuya I went to the mecca of Gals - department store 109. Wow that was something else! It was really fun but also one of the most terrifying things I've ever experienced. There were so many Gals and so many stores owned by Gals it was like Gal Heaven.
109 had 9 floors and countless stores inside. There were lots of cute clothes but some were so ridic that I couldnt even deal. the sales girls pretty much stalked me until i either bought something or walked out.

But after 4 hours of walking around I ended up with a very cute autumn dress for only 1000 yen ($10) :D woot! tres cute <3

Now here is a picutre of

I.M.U. miyako

so I'm back in tokyo now... its cloudy and slightly depressing after 12 days of sunny miyako!! I miss the endless beaches, the blinding sun, the wind, diving, and mostly my pals at hidamari guesthouse, Passion, Lipton, Oji, Kurochan, and everyone else!! Y'all are such wonderful people :)

My first plan was to stay for a week... but my addiction to miyako led me to stay for an additional 5 days! and boy, that may have been the smartest decision that I've ever made! I ended up getting my Open Water divers license with Passion! possibilities in miyako are actually endless! so I've decided to live there after uni. and get married to a cute tanned diver (p.s there are many in miyako) and open my own diving shop! Y'all should come visit me n my japanese hubby in miyako in the future!

p.s. this is my instructor, totty... he was cute, tanned, and an excellent diver lol. ;)

shakespeare in love

Jackie-Deane your as cool as a bean,
You look so fly because you like to get
high. I stept on your toe and now I
hope im not your foe. With your dresses
SO cute and your hair so brown baby I would
HATE to see you frown.

xoxo Oliver Schnare

so, today was really slow at the marina so i was writing oliver "love" poems which were actually like, hella insulting and ridiculous poems and then he was like "oh man, i wish i could write poetry like you" and i said he could and then like half an hour later he came up from the dock with this poem. I copied it exactly the way he wrote it, line structure and all. It is sooo cute. mostly because the lines make no sense in terms of where he decided to end them. :D

LOVE!!!

It sucks major becuase the guys here are sweeet but alot of them are older than me. My romantic summer is completely romance-less.

LAME!

so ive hooked up mycell to this blog to update in situations like right now.im currently on a train heading back to my grans house.funny thing is,me andhundreds of other helpless people are currently stalled because of a monsoon.isnt life wonderful? i may be here, perched on my suitcase for a while...better get comfortable!

Friday, July 24, 2009

She had that look.

So... i fell in love today.

It all started when i was ringing this lovely, old, rich, american couple( this is the majority of class that i tend to at the marina) through the till when the old man said to me "my goodness child, your eyes! Where you get eyes like that, girl? (oh yeah, he was black, best accent EVER!!!!) As he was saying this too me i said thankyou and then he proceeded to turn to Peter ( peter is hella cute, 17 and oh my god!) and say, " do you just stare at her eyes all day boy? how could you get anything done round here with eyes like them always lookin' atchu?

By this time i was more than embaressed and just as i thought i would never be able to look at Peter in the face again he said to the man " yeah, its hard" and then did a little half smile, head turn at me. Actually, thought i was going to topple over and die! SWOOOOOONNNN!!!!

The rest of the day Peter taught me how to tie boating knots. He is cute!
so ive been in japan for about a week now and things have been exciting but during my stay, ive also noticed things that are bothersome.... one of the main things here is body image. im quite disturbed by the shallowness of the media and people here. its pretty ridic. back home i consider myself average? i mean.. im not obese but im not a pin either right? im pretty healthy, but here im apparently GIANT. like what is up with that? shoes here run in S, M, and L!? uhh id like to know that japanese people dont come in just three sizes!? p.s i tried on a LL and it was too small -___- im a size EIGHT! not TWELVE!! hello?? oh yeah and i never knew that pants sizes started at size 22!? i didnt even know that 22 was a legit size!? and people here dont have the courtesy to keep unpleasant comments to themselves. im constantly told by my family about how i used to be skinny and how my legs are fat now and shit like that... thats just ridic. im pretty sure its an asian thing? they just like to be openly judgmental about body image and i think thats wrong!! so what i dont look like a model or w.e at least i can eat a meal without throwing it up or surgically enhance my body so that its "perfect". so thats something that i had to rant about because its dumb and people shouldnt be thinking like this.

JUNE <3s JAPAN

hey ya'll its been a while! i jus gotta say, I MISS EVERYONE SO MUCH!! ahahah i love you jackie, you are my mutton for life :)

oh man oh man, so much to say! oh yeah so the reason why i couldnt get to this before is cuz i needed to get some converter thing to make this work. but anywho thats all dealt with so all is well.

ok so im just gunna list EVERYTHING that ive done so far:
1. so flight was really awesome, no buiggie there. read all of those amazing letters. ahahhah im pretty sure that ppl around me were kinda freaked out cuz i kept laughing really loud!! LOL. p.s i couldnt make friends with the dude next to me cuz he fell asleep right away and was also not friendly looking... and also, i couldnt find the boy in the yellow shirt....

2. got to japan after 9hours. didnt get caught for swine (thank god) ahha and everything went really well!! omg when i got there it was 31 DEGREES. wtf. psycho.

3. my cousin tomoko and her bf makoto came to pick me up and from there we went on a drive too see none other than a GINORMOUS GUNDUM STATUE. it was called "gundum touch and go event" and boy, there were so many people! it was ridic!!

4. then after that we went on the RAINBOW BRIDGE to see the tokyo tower! how excite. then off we went to BBQ avec mon oncle et ma aunt. woo beef tongue is deelish!

5. got to my aunt and uncles appartment, wow its midget sized. also the cat here, rac is posessed by the devil. the first thing it did was bite and scratch my hand. wtf, you evil cat.

6. yesterday i went shopping with my auntie and hopped on the train to get there! trains here are so much better than skytrains... like actually. plush seating and everything!

7. today ive been chillin by myself here so i decided to walk around the area to uncover some japanese gems. one of them would defs have to be a shirt i saw in a small clothing store. there were some really cheap and cute things there but then, something caught my eye. i will post the pic so take a gander. i also got a whole bunch of really dope pics, like the worlds smallest juice box and chips that are shaped like hearts. and just general stuff that i thought ya`ll should check out!!

8. so thats is for now folks, i will update later!! love youuuu! lets msn or skype later byeeee.

ok so my comp is being retarded with pictures so im going to facebook all of them!!

BILLY, MJ, AND FARRAH YOU WILL BE MISSED

SO BILLY MAYS THE OXYMAN DIED TODAY ;( AND IN HONOR OF HIM IM GOING TO WRITE THIS ENTRY IN ALL CAPS WITH "!" MARKS AT THE END OF EACH SENTENCE! CUZ HE WOULD HAVE IT NO OTHER WAY!! SO IM PRETTY SURE THAT I'VE SEEN BILLY MAYS AT THE PNE ONE TIME WHEN I WAS 10 OR SO WHEN HE WASN'T EVEN FAMOUS YET!! HE STILL TALKED LIKE THIS WHEN I SAW HIM! SADD THAT HE DIED AT THE AGE OF 50! WOW SO THAT MEANS HIM AND MJ DIED AT 50 YEARS OLD. THATS CRAZY!!

AS FOR MJ, HE WAS A SUPER ICON AND NO ONE WILL EVER BE MORE FAMOUS THAN HIM I THINK! BUT TRUTH BE TOLD, I HAVE MIXED FEELINGS ABOUT HIM! I KNOW HE WAS AN AMAZING ARTIST THAT BROUGHT MUSIC ALIVE, BUT THE ONLY MJ THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE WAS THE INSANE ONE THAT HAD HELLA PLASTIC SURGERY AND WAS GOING THRU CHILD MOLESTATION CHARGES! WHICH IS REALLY ASHAME BECAUSE I LOVE HIS MUSIC FROM THE 80S! I WISH I GOT TO SEE HIM WHILE HE WAS STILL A SINGER, NOT A MEDIA SCRUITNY!!

ALSO, I THINK HE'S TAKING ANOTHER FAMOUS ICON, FARRAH FAWCETT'S THUNDER BECAUSE SHE ALSO DIED ON THE SAME DAY AS MJ. BUT NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THAT!! SHE WAS THE ORIGINAL CHARLIES ANGELS WITH HER SIGNATURE ANGEL HAIR! AWEE SHE SEEMED LIKE SUCH A WHOLESOME PERSON TOO!!

SO THAT WAS REALLY DEPRESSING!?! WHY IS EVERYONE DYING THESE DAYS!! I HAVE NO IDEA BUT LETS HOPE NO ONE ELSE IS GOING TO DIE CUZ ITS JUST SO SAD!! ANYWHO PEOPLE WHO ARE READING THIS, KEEP LIVING!!!! -XOXO JUNE

SUCIDAL CATERPILLARS!

HELP! SUICIDAL CATERPILLARS ACROSS THE ISLAND!

This is no joke peolpe. Today on Annie and I's morning walk - Annie is Lori and Rolyn's daughter - i was witness to 10 suicides... of furry little bugs. You see, Annie is really into nature. Every day her mission is to "save" nature as she like to call it. While walking down to the park she decided that we could save all the creatures that were crawling into the road.("Saving" means pick them up and throw them in the grass.)

I started to notice that there were alot of caterpillars out. After we had seen 2 that were definitely not moving i decided that i would stop informing young Annie when i saw a immotile furry thing on the road. Luckily, young children tend to think that non moving black things are just dirt on the road so she was not very aware of them. We saved 6 caterpillars today; she was proud.

I, on the other hand am a tid bit mortified by all this death. I mean, what is there to be sad about. All caterpillars do are eat, crawl, eat and eventually engulf themselves in a cacoon. After about a month of being inside there personalized house they are released into the world as beautiful, graceful butterflies. Sounds like the life.... but i guess not.
don't those fishies look like alien sperm?
